Where we build
A Hertfordshire builder — St Albans, Harpenden and the villages between.
Lignum Build works out of St Albans and Harpenden, with a 01727 landline and projects in Harpenden and Markyate. We say Hertfordshire rather than anything grander because that's what it is — and being genuinely local is the reason a decision on site gets made the same morning rather than the following week.
St Albans
The firm’s own base and its dialling code — 01727. Victorian and Edwardian terraces, 1930s semis and a lot of houses whose layouts were designed for a different century, which is exactly what refurbishment and reconfiguration work is for.
Harpenden
Where Lignum Build’s Google listing places it, and where two of the three published client projects are: an internal reconfiguration involving a good number of structural steels, and a bathroom transformation.
Markyate
A loft conversion for a family who needed more space during lockdown — converted and, in the client’s own words, completed on time. Fifteen minutes up the road from Harpenden.
The villages in between
Wheathampstead, Redbourn, Sandridge, London Colney and the rest of the lanes around St Albans and Harpenden are all within easy reach — but rather than list towns as though every one had a finished job in it, just ring and ask whether yours is a sensible distance.
One small thing worth saying
A Hertfordshire firm, not a London one.
If you've found Lignum Build through a search that suggested a London firm, that's a leftover in an old page title rather than the truth. The head office, the phone number and every project the clients have written about are in Hertfordshire — which is good news if you're in St Albans or Harpenden and would rather your builder didn't spend an hour on the M1 before starting.
Not sure you're in range?
Tell us where the property is and we'll say honestly.
A builder who is too far away costs you in delays rather than in pounds, so we'd rather tell you straight. Ring 01727 309301 or email sales@lignumbuild.com with the postcode and a line about the project.
